The CGI on Raging Bull was waaay ahead of its time. I think DeNiro looked far more realistic than Jar Jar Binks.
It really wasn't until Brando kept asking for more, and more CGI that it got overplayed. Kinda like the explosions in action movies today. You see one enormous CGI (fat guy) explosion, you've scene 'em all... What's next, big fake breasts?
