    I have 2 meg and the fastest I got was about 230kb/s I guess on 3 meg I'd have got 345 kb/s But I usually get about 30 kb/s dl and sometimes 40 - 50 kb/s.

    What speeds are you getting?

    I have around a 3.5 mB/s line and I consistantly download at 500 kB/s with torrrents.

    I max at about 600

Doesn't 3.5 meg bit a second (i.e. your rated speed for your line) = approx 350 KB/s so I can't understand how you get upto 600kB/s

    Wouldn't 600 be the equivalent of a 6 meg bit/sec line?

If I'm wrong can someone explain what the equivalents are and why.

No. You're comparing KB to MB as if they were the same amounts.

3.5 MB is equivalent to over 3500 KB

I just did another speed test and got some better results than before.

    This time it said I had a 4808kb line - 4.69 connection.
My upload speed was 362kb - or .353mb

    Got it?

Well if your connection is 3mbit it means that it is 384KB/s. 1024kbits is 1mbit so u multiply 1024kbit by 3 then divide by 8 which is 384KB/s. If you want to work in KB/s then 1mbit is 128KB/s and then you multiply by 3 which is 384KB/s either way lol.

precisely, so I have a 2Mbit connection which is why my top speed for dl is around 230 KB/s and the torrent clients measure dl in KB/s (atleast BC and Utorrent do)

So as I said, how can skizo get 600? 600 what KB or Kb what client are you using which measures in Kb?
