i've had to resauder the wires to my guitar input jack about 5 times. im tired of fuking with it. the local music store said it cost 60 dollars for them to run new wires and stuff. i dont have money for it right now. any other ideas? i've tried tape sauder works better though. or i could just buy another input jack and do it that way cuz sauder is caked on the jack. idfk.

    Your not soldering it properly.

Put the soldering iron on the area which needs to be soldered and hold it there for a wee bit. If necessary use a heat sink to prevent damage to sensitive parts.

Once the area has heated up put the solder onto the tip of the iron and if you do it properly it will run into the already heated area. If you don't do that you will get a dry joint and it won't work properly.

If the area is caked with solder you need a desoldering tool. It's a simple wee vacuum device, you heat up the solder then basically it sucks it off (ooer missus).

Don't under any cirumstances try putting solder on the iron and buttering it onto the joint. It will make you look like a tit. Heat the area properly, apply solder, job done.

I used to be an ace solderer (not as good as busy like). I could solder two fucking bits of wood together.

Actually I repaired a guitar input jack recently. True Story.
