Kazaalite - Uploading File Not In Shared Folder

Hi all. I've searched these forums and googled for info, but I can't find the answer. Please be kind if I'm asking a stupid question (it wouldn't be the first time).

I downloaded a file using KazaaLite, and it was automatically saved to a folder that is not being shared. The folder that it was saved to has a different name than the one I'm using for sharing, and only the shared folder has the shared property in the "tools/find media to share" kazaalite window. Neither folder is a parent or child of the other.

When I select "my kazaa lite" I do not see the file listed in my shared files, yet people are still able to access it. How is this possible?

Nope, but much thanks for the long list. Now I know not to download any of those.

I'm running Norton AV with updated virus defs, which did catch a virus in another file I started downloading.

Are downloaded files always always always shared regardless of whether you block that folder?

if you set a folder to download to, that folder will be added to your "shared" list automaticly, perhaps ur "My Kazaa Lite" did not update correctly, this happens alot. Restart Kazaa and check what folders you are sharing again (options>find media to share>folder list).

In addition to the fact that the download folder is ALWAYS shared, except when not sharing files is checked, when you check in tools it may be at the very bottom of the list and cannot be unchecked.
