Thread: Copy Controlled Cds

  1. #1
I was wondering if anyone can give any information about the latest Cd copying protection. I just purchased a new cd and it has "Copy Controlled" anti-copying protection... Damn if could make a copy or even rip the music without distortion. Any feedback on how to overcome this will be greatly appreciated.

    its simple
    how they do it is
there is now two sessions on the cd
    date and music
    the preset is data
so all u gotta do is change it to music
so whatever burning software you have
i use easy cd creator and nero
for easy cd creator just go to it in the start menu
    and go to session selector
    and select the session
    simple as that

Just record the CD into your PC.
Either plug your hifi into the line input on your soundcard (you will need a recording program for this) or play the CD direct from the PC's CD Rom. I have done this using SoundForge

    Did that make any sense?

    I'd go with Grims method
i've read that some copy protection can corrupt the firmware of cd-rom drives - which i reckon should be illegal

Rumor is, the new Third Eye Blind which comes out tomorrow, has a new type of copyguard to stop pirates. I'd be interested if anyone in the forum has any trouble making a copy.
