Marking the fifth anniversary of the release of the groundbreaking Xbox video game Halo, developers Microsoft Game Studios and Bungie Studios today announced that a pre-release version of the multiplayer aspect of its long-awaited Halo 3 video game is scheduled for availability in the spring of 2007, exclusively on the Xbox 360 console. Feedback from the multiplayer public beta, available via Xbox Live, will be used for the final release version of Halo 3, which is expected to launch sometime in 2007.

In addition, a 60-second “teaser” advertisement for Halo 3 will air only once, on December 4th during ESPN’s Monday Night Football; also, new multiplayer maps for Halo 2 will be available through the Xbox Live Marketplace next spring.
