    So I decided to finally add a 7 string to my "inventory". I've been yearning to learn some Dream Theater and Nevermore, so got off my lazy ass and am learning to try and master sweep picking, long way to go, but I'd like to have a 7 stringer till I get there (to at least play the songs minus the super insanely mind blowing solos). And yes, self-taught, fuck lessons (until I'm too desperate).

    Recommendations?

    I was looking at the Schecter C-7's then realized they were USD $1000.

    So I looked at the Schecter Omen 7's, not bad for USD 500-ish.

    I know Ibanez makes some 7 strings as well.

    So if anyone can recommend a good realible (preferabbly good enough so that the stock pickups won't need replacing, I know that the Ibanez INF series stock pickups are the best humbuckers that I've ever played on, better than EMG's ) 7 string guitar preferabbly under 600 Canadian, I'd greatly appreciate it .

    6 guitars so far, a 7th can't hurt.

    1) Dean's dont' come in 7 strings (I think)
    2) I'm getting the Razorback (Rusted color) in 2008, 6000 dollars better be worth it, I'm gonna keep it purely as a showpiece taking it out of its glass display to play a song or two once a month

    my 7-string is an ibanez gio and its fun sometimes. i would definitely give the schecters a good shake; they make awesome guitars.

    here's the ones musiciansfriend.com has. see if any of those fit your eye or budget.

    gotta learn some unearth tho.

    If you have enough money you could get an Ibanez Universe... dam nice looking guitars! Although I have a bias towards Ibanez, they really are the best playing...

    And why the heck do you have so many guitars? I onyl have two, E and Eb lol. Both Ibanez an RG350DXFX and a limited edition 2006 RG

    Yea I'm gonna end up getting an Ibanez because it seems they're the only one's that come with a standard floating bridge (which I need).

    Why so many? I like to collect and I'm way too lazy (especially when it comes to floating bridges) to retune my guitar to a diff tuning.

    Right now I have:

    My very first CRAPPY guitar (noname brand) --> standard tuning
    Warlock w/ the EMG's --> Drop D
    Warlock w/ stock pickups --> Drop C
    Ibanez RG350dx --> Drop D
    Jackson King V --> 1/2 step down from standard
    Ibanez MTM1 --> Drop B (BF#BEG#C#)

    my fleet of acoustic guitars is another story

    Yea man, cant go wrong with them, and yeah, they nearly always come with the floyd rose in there. Get some pics up of it!! Oh and if you get a Universe or any prestige RG, you are a lucky person!!
