Thread: Xvid Configuration

  1. #1
What is the best configuration when encoding in XviD? I am recording MTV Icon tonight and I have 4.5GB left. I would like a decent quality, but relatively low file size.

    Cheers

If I leave it at the default settings, My T.V program says that I can only record 15 minutes. I'm not sure how to set up the encoder, but I want to record more, but with the same file size.

I'm using ATI Multimedia Center. I usually record in MPEG, but I haven't got enough space, so I chose AVI, and used the codec XviD. At default settings, it says it can record 15 minutes, which is much less then MPEG! I asking for the best settings for the codec.

    Cheers

I don't think your computer is fast enough to encode to XviD in realtime.

Couldn't find a way to do it by the time it started. In the end I just put loads of things onto a CD and recorded into MPEG.

    Cheers for the help though
