Get the DS Lite. Trust me. The DS Lite looks sleeker, is smaller, has brighter screens, and the option to change the brightness of screens.

About a week ago, I bought a black DS Lite and a G6 Lite flash cart. I have 10 DS games and 1 GBA game on one cart.

As far as abilities, the DS can take up more space in your house and give you eye strain with its dimly lit screen. If that's not of interest to you, buy a lite.

DS lite: brighter display, longer battery life, a bit thiner. other than that no differences. HTH
