On many sites their policy is to delete accounts for inactivity after 42 days or some defined time period. does anybody know if "inactivity" refers to time in which you haven't logged into the site, or time that you are not actively downloading or uploading torrents?

it all depends on the site, i believe. some you can have active torrents and you dont need to keep logging in. some require logging in periodically

Bitmetv and Bite both clearly states that you have to use you account to upload or download. Other sites are pretty tricky (or maybe they are very clear, any activity is fine)

I would think that it is time that you have'nt checked into the site but I could be wrong.

I think inactivity is related to the 'last seen' field in your profile page
99% of the sites all you have to do is login to the site to remain active.
Simply load one page and your good for another x amount of days.
