They seem to make every movie into 3 parts now a days.

Examples:
The Matrix
Harry Potter
Xmen
Lord of the Rings
Spiderman(Heard it was gonna be 3)
and some more

No offence but do you know ANYTHING?
Matrix - Yes, three parts
Harry Potter - There's going to be SEVEN movies, one for each book and there will be SEVEN books
Xmen - We have no clue if this is going to be three or more. We'll have to see, but you can't say its a trilogy as fact.
LoTR - This was a three part book first, so kinda bad example.
Spiderman - Never heard this was going to be a three part

Just to be clear, Matrix will be 3 parts. Harry Potter is officially signed on for 3 films, but they are only talking about making 5, not 7. One for each book just isn't feasible. That kid will be 30 when he finishes with 7 movies. Xmen has been signed to a 3rd film, but Marvel has made it clear that as long as people keep coming to see them, they'll keep making them. So there could be more. Lord of the Rings will be 3 parts, no more, no less. There was talk about doing a prequel of the Hobbit, but it was scrapped. Spiderman is currently filming a sequel in NYC, and a third movie is in the works. Kirsten Dunst has signed on for the third film, Tobey McGuire has not. Also, Venum will be the enemy in the Spiderman 3. B)

I also believe that there will be a Resident evil 2 and 3 and I saw a trailer for a house of the dead movie a couple of weeks ago.. it looked quite awesome
