just got it sitting on my window sill, and its on 24/7.
its screwed up a few times but still works perfect.
by screwing up i mean like the usb cable falls out of my laptop (think i need to get that fixed) and it would have to be restarted for my latpop to pick it up again, gets annoying but takes about a sec. only happend a bout 5 times.
temp on its probably good since the window sill is cold 24/7 along with my room which has no heating. (new bedroom
