The PC giant will offer two low-priced models at the retailer's stores as it abandons the direct-sales only model.

Would you buy a Dell PC from a sales associate in a blue vest? Dell's main method for selling computers-directly from the manufacturer-isn't getting the job done, so the Round Rock (Tex.) PC maker found a partner to help push its machines: Wal-Mart .

The once-unlikely combo was announced May 24. The agreement includes the launch to two Dell Dimension desktops offered in more than 3,500 Wal-Mart and Sam's Club locations across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

As befits a merchandising venture with Wal-Mart, the two models offered will carry a low price, each offered in a package bundle under $700. The companies expect high "consumer feedback and purchase response," Wal-Mart said in a press release.

Dell, the world's No 2 computer maker, has begun selling laptops and personal computers pre-installed with Linux software - the free operating system that aims to challenge Microsoft's dominant Windows platform.

The decision is a breakthrough for enthusiasts of Linux, the most popular variant of open-source software. Unlike proprietary software, open-source software lets developers share code and add functions, and users only pay for custom features, maintenance and technical support.

If Dell learns about Linux MCE and can get some manufactures to start making good linux drivers, Dell can capitalize on customers buying their computers for total home automation (from controlling tv, pvr, security, lights, and everything)

We'll see if they do though.

Click for more activation options, then activate by telephone. Run the keygen.
if I call them, aren't they going to get me? (you know, down there)
