So I got to work today and the day staff had already setup the vista displays and the OS on all the computers. Im playing with it and I just dont see the point.

Am I the only one who thinks Vista is just a cooler looking version of XP? Whats so great about it? Should I upgrade ?(pirated of course)

Would all my programs and stuff run okay on it?

Don't bother installing it now because it's quite buggy at the moment. Not all you applications will work on vista either.

I agree with the first part, but what won't work on Vista?

I'm not sure but peat moss stated:
went back to XP because my software choices were limited .
in the "New vista versions" thread.

New programs are being updated every day I switched back to XP because of Firewall and anti virus problems .

There is a compatibility guide here :

According to what someone from Microsoft said on G4 today, it is mainly the "security" and Aero.

His argument was that Aero does not just look nice, but it is helpful to someone who has to sit at a computer 24x7. It has things like smoother fonts and visuals, which help on the eye strain.

That was his main argument. (He didn't go into the dx10 or anything though).

Click for more activation options, then activate by telephone. Run the keygen.
if I call them, aren't they going to get me? (you know, down there)

Is it buggy? I never had problems, but I only used it for a week so...

The only problem I had was, yep you guessed it, software compatibility. That and I do agree Vista needs to..."mature" a bit more. I hear SP1 is coming up for release too.

Vista: Dx10, Aero (really the graphic interface is lovely as well as efficient), Search/Folder Organization for media, IE7 Protected Mode? Hmmm, that's what I liked.

just been reading on the bbc website:

    Vista has speech recognition hole
Microsoft has admitted that speech recognition features in Vista could be hijacked so that a PC tells itself to delete files or folders.
Vista can respond to vocal commands and concern has been raised about malicious audio on websites or sent via e-mail.

Im still on Xp, and dont plan on changing any time soon..I'll prolly wait till it gains a good rep, before I go out and buy it.
