Thread: Shutting Down

  1. #1
I used to have windows 98, now ive installed Xp and its great. Theres one thing that bothers me though. When I had 98 and I shut down, the computer would turn off by itself. The other day when I shutdown using Xp, the computer didnt turn off. I woke up the next morning and my computer was on. I turned on the screen and it said "now it is safe to turn off your computer." so this mean i have to turn off my computer manually everytime? Is there any way i can change settings so that the computer shutsdown automatically.

This is because of the APM (Advanced Power Management) settings within WinXP. Find the solution here.
