This Forum Is Really Growing

This site is really shooting up in terms of members, its getting about 1500 more per week! That means that despite it taking 11 months to get to 20,000, we'll be getting our 30,000th member just 6 weeks after having our 20,000th member 'celebration'.
does anyone else think this is pretty cool or is everyone dreading the fact that we'll be drowning in noobs. We'll be having immigration laws soon and maybe refugee camps for rescued kazaa gold users.

Would it be possible for any of you lovely mods or board admins get your hands on joining stats? I wouldn't mind seeing a graph of how we're being invaded

I think its pretty cool that we're expanding, makes me feel part of a superpower

I don't think we get too many noobs around here, anyway a newbie doesn't annoy me too much as long as they don't ask something like - "can i make my modem go faster then 50kb/s?" - i like helping.

Even though we have 23,000 members, i don't really notice - i only see 2-3 new faces every week
Maybe half the registered users joined and never came back

Actually, you forget one thing - The majority of newbies are still using KMD, so AFAIK we don't have too many newbies; could you imagine the entire KMD population just suddenly starting to use KL instead? That would be excessive and pretty shocking, but due to Sharman brainwashing I think we're safe

As for the growth spurt, I'm personally ecstatic about it - Because the huge increase in the number of joins means that KL is really becoming stronger and stronger. Hell, it could end up being that KL becomes a serious thorn in Sharman's side (I know it is already, but with a strong number behind us it could be even make Sharman change their ways - But that still seems unlikely right now)

Hasnt anyone noticed this board is going downhill lately? I know for a fact that a few others have too.

in what way do you think its going downhill? I have noticed quite a few posts with noobies answering noobies.

For a start, people can't seem to have there own opinion these days without being flamed. Personal insults start getting thrown around etc and it gets boring after a while. Also, when someone trys to start a serious topic, 8 times out of 10 it turns into a spam thread.

Just my opinion of course.

You couldn't be more right Curley, it's a great shame but strange how this has happened sort of 'over-night'. I reckon there should be an error message if someone tries to post a swear word, for the while anyway. Actually that's quite stupid but I reckon it would reduce the flaming as people won't bother replying like

"ok, you silly billy. You are a bum head and If I ever see you I will put my fist on your face, you f-word!"

I like the growth and have to say that the forum isn't anywhere near as bad as it was 2 or 3 months ago.

At least we are no longer being bombarded with superspam/flames we had before certain members were escorted off the premises.

Of course I haven't been on near as much the last month but I haven't seen anything too serious while browsing through posts of the last month.

I also notice the improvement of the forums speed. A few months ago 250 users would have shut us down for days
