I guys, here is the deal,
today I got a laptop, it is pretty neat and all, not the newest but not old either.
    It´s a used HP,
so as soon as I got home I started the ´testing´ and everything seemed to be going great, even the4 wireless internet connection,
in fact Im writing this from my new laptop (not actually new ).
Anyway, the problem started when I tried to play a DVD,
the movie would play but very badly, its like the video kinda gets stuck, but it doesn´t, like when you are running lots of prosses.
I tried making some adjustment to PowerDVD n VLC Player, but the inprovement is very low, if any.
But if I play, lets say, a simple Xvid/Divx file it works great,
so Im beting is a memory thing, but since I´ve never had a laptop,
I would appreciate your thoughts on this mater,
    thanks guys.

    try windows version of mplayer.
mplayer is a powerfull playeer u don't need any codecs installed on your system cos mplayer got them all already.

112 MB of RAM just isn't enough.

indeed 112 MB of RAM is very few but with mplayer it may works.

No way. Especially if it's maximized.

What you're referring to is commonly known as 'lag'. (when a movie/game looks jumpy)

VB is right about the memory. It simply isn't enough. For example, you have 112, whereas I have 2048. RAM is fairly inexpensive as far as PC hardware goes, but the problem you may run into is, your PC will likely be lagging in the graphics card department as well.

Run Everest Free Edition, which will create a text document of what all the hardware is on your computer. Post that for us and we can go from there.

have nearly same laptop as you and mine has 256 memory and works perfect so update memory should be no worries. plus if yours is like mine onboard video takes a bite out of your memory also

Right, the guy I got it from agrees with ya´ll,
I just talked to him and he said he will get me additional memory and that
    should fix it,
so I guess we just have to wait and see.
Thanks guy, I´ll keep you posted.
