Campbell Not Helming Bond 22
Royale director unlikely to return.
With the next James Bond film slated to begin filming in January 2008 for a November 2008 release, EON Prods. will need to hire a director soon in order to make those dates.
After Roger Michell backed out of helming the sequel to the franchise's highest grossing entry, Casino Royale, it was reported that Royale and GoldenEye helmer Martin Campbell would be sitting in the director's chair once again for Bond 22.
Alas, it appears that the Campbell reports were wishful thinking.
While doing press for Casino Royale's debut in China -- the first Bond film to ever be released there -- Campbell advised the AFP that it was highly unlikely he would return to helm the next installment.
