Thread: server for sharing

  1. #1
I have a big amount of files that I would like to share to people. I currently share them through my and my friend's PC. However the upload speed here in Turkey is very slow. So I would like to hire a server in the US to share my files through torrent sites and/or other networks (like gnutella etc.) Is it possible? Do you know any hosting servers that have this service? (the files that I would like to share are NOT copyrighted)

Yes, there are plenty of companys that will sell you remote access to a server with lots of bandwidth.

There is already lots of threads about seedbox's in this forum, for example

"I went over to a friend's house the other day. He was having problems with his computer and he asked me to look at it, and I realized he had Windows Me and it's like, oh no—that's your first problem."-Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell.

Then have you considered running you own tracker? You can run it very easily on your own computer and it uses few resources, you can download it http://bnbteasytracker.sourceforge.net/

You will need Excel installed on your computer for the data-base.

...you could also download this SlavaNap server http://www.slavanap.org/download.php here ( the full Windows install, ...they also have a linux build) and share your files on it. Your friends can log in and share their files too..you can make it public or private, for friends only, using a file-sharing client like Lopster, which you can download here..
    http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...group_id=66404

These servers you find listed here at http://www.gotnap.com/index.php?loc=list GotNap is a fully automated data base..
All these programs are clean and spyware free...

You could even possibly link with my file sharing network or one of the others you see listed, all this is for free...

Something else you don't have to go all the way to America for your hosting!

Try http://www.nouzelle.com/ I can recommend it for whatever form of filesharing you are into.

Yes I know it's in Dutch!
