are these 10 totally dif. files that happen to be .wmv or are
they related to each other? You downloaded them from kazaa?

ive last week did a clean install and system restore etc so how wud donig it again help its not gonna give me wotever i need that making things not play

presumably these are downloads mate?
to be honest, if WMP can't cope, Id guess you are screwed to be honest...as a last resort suggestion, have you tried VDub/TMPEGENC? it might work, though, to be honest I doubt it
and just check WMP options has "autodownload codec" checked??

Two more suggestions...
1. Try installing Media Player 7. I normally use version 6.4 (just because I like that one better), but I also have version 7 installed in a different folder. I've downloaded .wmv files already that will not play in 6.4, but they play fine in 7. Don't ask me why.
2. Install Windows Media Encoder. It may install some new codecs, and you can use it to try re-encoding your .wmv's into (hopefully) better wmv's.

right i totalyy deleted windows meia player off and re-installed and that sorted it thanks for the help
