Newsgroups for Music?

I'm only interested in music by bands on mostly small labels - many out of print and difficult to get on CD. I hear that Oink - Bittorrent comes closest to what I need, but how about newsgroups? I did some searches of newgroups, but I think that only reflects the last 3 days sinc

Are newsgroups what I'm looking for or mostly for just released? I need to know before I pay the $20 for the month and invest in newsleach + all the time figure it all out. Thanks!

First off, I recommend newsgroups for everything.

You also do not need to pay a penny (I don't) if your ISP has a news server. Check here for some of the more popular ones - http://www.usenettools.net/ISP.htm

Binsearch has a very good group-browse feature. http://binsearch.info/groups.php
There are so many music groups available, it can be a challenge just to find them all. One thing you can do is search for an artist, then browse the groups the titles appear in.

You won't find much country music though.

Maybe around a thousand country songs get posted each day.
