Can't get rid of this thing -- it's just sitting in my recycle bin, and whenever I try to delete it, the system freezes, explorer stops responding and I have to restart. The irony is that I could probably use one of those power erasing utilities within that program to do the job right now.

    Little help...

By the way, is there much difference between Systemworks 2003 & Systemworks 2003 Pro?

Sure there is a difference! One is shit, and the other one is a pretty smelly shit!
Try deleting from dos (if you have dos ) or check out the topic "How do I initiate a port scan?".
And forget about norton products for a life!

Yeah, I've been starting to catch this whiff amongst the in-the-know that you speak of regarding Norton. Do you know any good all-in-1 alternatives?
    -Antivirus
    -System Cleaning Utilities
    -Backup/restore
    -Firewall
    etc.

    K-Man,
Thanks for the feedback, by the way...I'll get back to you regarding the upgrade soon.

So then you're endorsing Norton products?
Their support staff advised me to do something which eventually led to a reformat & reinstall, and a few peeps on this forum have warned me to steer very clear...
Honestly, besides that one guy's ineptitude, I thought Systemworks was pretty convenient and ran smoothly, so I don't know at this point
I'll give the others a try and go back to NSW if need be.

    hi there !
one programme that has all those features is Ontrack System Suite 4. it even has "crash proof" that informs you to back up data, if it fails to stop the crash.

I did the same thing about 4 months ago. I ended up reformating and reinstalling.
