Tommy Cooper was one of those comics who it's almost sacrilegious to dislike.
I just don't get it. Never have. I've tried but I'd rather stick a syringe full of bleach in my eyeball than watch him.
My parents used to fall about pissing themselves laughing when he came on. I used to check the ashtrays to see what the fuck they were smoking.
