Converting dvd to xvid help

Hi,can someone please tell me what the best program is for converting vob files to xvid.

A pretty simple, all-in-one package is FairUse (http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/fairuse_wizard_dvd_divx_xvid_backup_tool_light_edition.html).

You'll need to burn the DVD to and .iso first, you can use DVDShrink for that (http://www.dvdshrink.org).

You cant really say or recommend "the best" but i've literally tried loads of different programs, commercial and free and now I am using a free one called staxrip which ive found to be excellent. Very good on the speed side but also gives great results ( even playing on my 42" plasma).
