    Are your firewalls blocking communication?

I haven't used vista in a couple of weeks, but there is a network option to make your computer discoverable on the network. I think you access the menu by double clicking on the network icon in your system tray.

You must configure Vista first to be share on the network you have home .

    Had a similiar problem ...

If you're running Norton Internet 2007 or 360 you have to add the network to Trusted to share also.

    It's buried under advanced settings
