Flac selection is not bad, but compression could be better.

Thanks! That made me think about how to edit my linux hosts file so my torrents on my vps would acutally connect today rather than sitting there as red Xs.

    Question Mark

    Seeding ideas..

Ok, so my usual strategy, that works with most trackers, is to sort by leechers, and grab the torrent with the most that isn't too huge (since I am a new user)...

This strategy seems to TOTALLY FAIL with oink.. I can't figure out how to earn ratio there.. For some reason most of the leechers just stay in the () and never get much if any data offa me.. I see people that still need data, but they don't d/l from me for some reason.. Can someone explain to me what it means when the leechers stay in (), if there is any way to fix it so I can seed, and why trackers report people that stay in () as leechers, making it so difficult to figure out what to snag to attempt to seed and build ratio with?

I've tried to research this, but I guess it is so obvious to most people that nobody ever mentions it..

Aside from all that, does anyone have any bright strategies for getting ahold of data that doesn't already exist on demonoid to start need torrents for (it is SOOO comprehensive this seems nearly impossible..

Bottom line question, how did you earn ratio on oink when you were just starting out (assuming you didn't have access to a lot of other great trackers)?

Download from other P2P sources (Newsgroups?) and upload that.

Read Oink forums for more specific guides, there are lots of FAQs and helpfull guides on how to keep a good ratio on their forums.

If you just want to spam, go to the Lounge.

The Bittorrent section should be kept relatively on-topic.
