in the TCP Optimiser the number there is already "255552" wouldnt putting in the other number make it slower
Just use the auto-fix from Pc Pitstop.........It is easier than editing your registry and the tweak it makes is realy the only one that will do any good(to the TCP Recive Window).

    Peace brotherdoobie B)

Make sure u change any settings to your registry that were tweaks for 56k connections(dial up).

Excellent tip I went from 266 to 311 and I can definitely see an increase in the speed of webpages loading up.

For anyone who wants to know I used the PC pitstop autofix and I'm running win2k. This should definitely be in the FAQ

Yes it realy helps in alot of cases with helping web pages load faster!
and The PC Pitstop auto-fix just adjusts the TCP Recieve Window.
Which is all that is needed......all other tweaks concerning Broadband connections are Urban myth or have very littel value.

However there are a few things u can do to help your 56k connection, but nothing realy dramatic.....only and upgrade to broadband will do that.

Trust me I have been tweaking dial-up connections since 1995.....and Broadband for the last 3 years.
and by the way your very wellcome.

    Peace brotherdoobie B)

Ok, the people giving out the tips here are a little dense when it comes to people saying "it's not there!" so I'll answer the questions they seem to be avoiding or just don't understand...

    1) There's no item by that name in the location you told me. Ok, no one ever did say what the exact value name was, so I will... The name you should be looking for is "TcpWindowSize". Now, for me, it wasn't there until after I used TCP Optimzer. You can add it yourself by right-clicking, then selecting New -> DWORD Value. Enter "TcpWindowSize" as the name and hit <Enter>. Now, double click on the item you just created, select "Decimal" in the Base group, then type in the number and hit <Enter>.
