I know Kazaa can't be used for file sharing but what is the best software to use for a direct connection between 2 ADSL links.
We will be sharing wav files up to around 60-70 meg. The ADSL links will be with the same ISP but I assume this doesn't make any difference.

Use a program called DirectConnect and set up some "hubs" or use mIRC and DCC the file to your friend. Or simply do the following using KaZaA (the file you are sharing must be in your shared folder):

    1. Find your IP address.
    2. Tell your friend to go to http://yourip:1214
Substitute "yourip" with your IP address.
    3. Your friend clicks the file that you wish to send, you must be connected to KaZaA.
    4. All progress will be shown in your upload window.

    Good luck!

An even simpler, user-friendly way is to use Yahoo messenging. It's free and isn't rocket science.

Gotta love yahoo buddy and all the other shit it installs too!!
I'd certainly like my email filled with penis enlargment and "how to make instant cash" ads more often!

There's a program already built into windows that no one ever thinks of for stuff like this.

Netmeeting. Just dial in with the IP and you can drag and drop files into a desktop window where your guests can upload them from. And it doesn't have the 1-2 mb limit that yoohoo does.

Thanks for all the help, we will try a few and see which works out the best for us. MSN messenger sounds good though

Putting the files on a CD may not work though as I can never get the CD's down the phone line.

Sorry I've not acknowledged before now but I couldn't get on the board last night.
