In fact, at certain moments (yesterday had a few) I can't put into words how much I'm laughing, as the 'lol' seems to have lost it's touch and everyone uses it whether they are or not

i laugh out loud when someone uses smilies in the right way along with what they've said. it can be quite effective if done the right way. it's an art form, posting in forums.
