Hi

did anybody realize that on this forums who ever write about RIAA is a "newcomer" user and they all talk about wat Riaa can do if u share ur files and how Riaa can track people, so i think they r a paid person's from RIAA to scare user's of P2p dont listen to them keep going on.

but sueing hundreds of them into bankruptcy is likely to scare hundreds of thousands away from p2p

Yes, but is the RIAA going to invest millions into catching people that upload and share copyrighted works? I doubt it.

Why not? Echelon supposidly can monitor 99% of all telephone calls. Why cant they do that for computers.

But there is always a chance Echelon does not exist.

The point is well made. All they have to do is sew the seeds of doubt and fear, by coming to places like this. Then back that up by some high profile litigation, that will seriously disrupt the number of people using K++ and the like.

Remember a lot of users don't have their own PCs or ISPs, because these are supplied by their parents. They will be scared into switching off p2p much quicker than lots of people here.

They don't intend suing everyone, just enough to seriously disrupt the networks.

Echelon does not exist. However carnivore does exist, and it can track all of your movements online. It is illegal for anyone to use it without a full content wiretap ordered by a court judge.

Echelon can exist. But how 70's technology (or even modern technology) can monirot almost all telephone conversations and be able to extract anything usable is beyond me. I guess it is possible.
