    i dual/tri boot win xp, suse 8.2 pro and red hat 9.0

    im debating wether to install freebsd or debian next for a bit of testing, B)

    oh...yea im planning to try gentoo and Knoppix next month. i hope i can get through the install process ok though. Heard it was pretty hard.

    Aye it is. But to tell ya what, I have learned more about linux while installing Gentoo then I did when i used Red Hat for two weeks. I don't even have a windows manager either. Kde has been downloading and compiling for about 6 hours now

    Oh thats easy. You have to compile and download everything in Gentoo. Even as a Linux noob it was easy. Only takes about 40 minutes too. I've had to do it like 4 times so far because i kept forking something up

    yea i know what you mean. i didnt learn a thing in mdk9.1. it was too automatic but i did like the hardware autodetect.
