How do you update the linux kernel in slackware 9.0?

im using the 2.2.XX series and want to upgrade to 2.4.21

first get yourself the new kernel form here

then follow this rather nice guide

it should not take too long to compile.

ok...um theres no /linux in the /usr/src/ directory. instead theres rpm

try installing the source for the kernal

hmm i cant install it.

well i think ill try to move the files into /usr/src/
