Ok here is a poll that I think should be easy to relate to, as we all have taste buds. For example, I don't like marmite, but know many english people who do. Why is that?

I cannot imagine how a person could like marmite OR vegimite, without heavy conditioning. So I voted nurture. But it was close.

I reckon nurture. All the good things; wine, whiskey, cigars, fine food are all acquired tastes. Our pallates are as sensitive as we train them to be.
    But caviar is Satan's excrement.

I say nurture. I hate some of the foods my parents like, and vice versa.

Do we have any asian members on the forum? The reason I ask is because it is rumored that they don't eat cheese because it is disgusting to them.

Taste is very much tied to smell, and initially any smell is percieved as a threat(defense mechanism), in short it's a matter of learning to like stuff. Maybe

Asian people tend to have a higher percentage of lactose intolerance. However, this was from a study a little while back and may have been disproven.

People are also genetically pre-dispositioned to enjoy foods that are high in fat. It ensures that you'll survive the winter.

things are quiet until hitler decides he'd like to invade russia
    so, he does
the russians are like "OMG WTF D00DZ, STOP TKING"
and the germans are still like "omg ph34r n00bz"
the russians fall back, all the way to moscow
and then they all begin h4xing, which brings on the russian winter
the germans are like "wtf, h4x"
