I just found out that my college accommodation has rubbish bandwidth. The say they are connected to an "up to 8MB" service but because the exchange is so far away (rural area) there isn't even enough bandwidth to use skype or stream videos.

I was wondering if there was a way that didn't use up too much bandwidth to get new tv episodes from bittorrent.

My plan is something like this.... remote access to Home PC with 19MB connection...download file onto Home PC then if there is a way to watch it from my Home PC on the College PC (actually my laptop) without transferring the whole file??

Is any of this making sense or is at least at all possible?

Would I be right in thinking if the college got Virgin Cable Broadband, they would get the full speed of the service no matter how far from the exchange?

Thanks
