Thread: Kazaalite V.s. Shareaza

  1. #1
I've been reseaching p2p networks lately and the two top p2p clients that ive come across are Shareaza (sharelive) and kazaalite in my book. Between the two of them, who do you think comes out on top??

Most users really hate Kazaa because of all the privacy issues and such.
knock Kazaa all you want, but Kazaa lite has no spyware and an awesome search engine so there for, its one of my top used p2p clients... You can do endless searching and Irc chat and much more... its awesome. Now, there are a TON of fake files on the kazaa network, this i know. Shit, i have prolly downloaded 1/3 of all that exist. lol. This would be its biggest downfall. You can however, find verifieds fairly easily BUT, the hashing system seems strange because there will be times when a file just is not available.. not queued, not just in need of some more sources, but comepletely sourceless. I don't quite understand that.

'Raza? i havent really downloaded anything but movies so far. At least that is a ton better... i like the added search features to the videos. Also its good that 'raza come with .torrent support. That is very cool indeed, but i find i have much better luck (not to mention speed) using bt's official & unofficial software to d/l bt files. While searching didn't quite yield as good of results that kazaa lite could, it did however seem to list more authentic files. I also found sharelive.com to be quite useful as i did verifieds.com for kazaa... The ability to connect to 3 different networks seemed awesome to me at first too, but then it really didn't change much for my download. actually, it seemed to slow it down... lol

Maybe im not utilizing the tools that 'raza has available to their fullest extent, but i think that in all kazaa wins because of senority. Shareaza is new. Maybe in time it will amount to 4 times as large as the Kazaa network. Who knows. Me, im going to use still use both programs.. each for different reasons/strengths that the other doesn't have......

what do y'all think....? Which is better?

    Where do I start?
    • Never make presumptions on this board - The top two are NOT Shareaza & K-Lite. That's because people use a varying number of P2P software. Though most will have K-Lite.
    • Kazaa has some privacy issues - That's why PeerGuardian (or Sygate for the more technical) is recommended often
    • Also its good that 'raza come with .torrent support So's BitTorrent. What's wrong with the network's original app when it has no spyware/adware?
    • I also found sharelive.com to be quite useful as i did verifieds.com for kazaa Got to agree with you there about Sharelive But that's with eMule & BitTorrent only.
    • Maybe in time it will amount to 4 times as large as the Kazaa network No it won't - Shareaza only connects to the different networks; it doesn't control them. In effect, it will grow to the combined total of the networks but never four times as much as any one of them (what's the chances of having all of the networks having the exact same popularity? )
    • Who knows. Me, im going to use still use both programs.. each for different reasons/strengths that the other doesn't have...... That's not abnormal - Most people here access many of the different networks, but we don't use Shareaza; using seperate programs for different networks isn't that much of a resource hog and in most cases you can get features specific to each network.
    • each for different reasons/strengths that the other doesn't have...... That's the reason why a lot of people use multiple P2P software

Last but not least...there is already a poll for this. Look it up using the search button in the top-right of the screen

Heh, okay - I see what you meant about them being the best two you've seen. You get a few noobs preaching that one program is the best over all others. I apologise for my own presumption on that basis Forgive?

But there is already a poll about this - http://www.klboard.ath.cx/bb/index.php?sho...371&hl=shareaza

Great point, big downfall of shareaza.
About the Bt, I am sure that it is just the Bt software that used first time round but i t required like a difrrent download window for each torrent, nice ot have it all in one program.

    - Shareaza has an anti-corruption system
    - The emule client is a bit annoying because you have to wait ages for it to start, but allows partial file sharing so i think new files spread quicker
    - The help file is non-existant and the FAQ doesn't help much
    - Shareaza is good because i can't be bothered to download BT, Emule, and someother program seperately

You poster of this topic posted the exact same thing on the Shareaza forums .

    Anyway:
    1. Shareaza
    2. KaZaA Lite
    3. eMule

Shareaza has the best looking GUI of any P2P program, it's soooooo easy to use and has more features that anything else, it is highly efficient and incredibly fast.

KaZaA Lite has a tiresome graphical shell, which makes you wanna puke, is packed full of fakes and child porn and such disgusting matter but is quite fast.

eMule, I have used is the slowest P2P client out there, it's not much of a CPU hog, for most newbies they say it is too hard to setup, but I dunno what they're talkin' about, I did it fine. It is highly advanced, it has a moderate amount of features but the network is the finest, it has the most games, movies etc. aside from BitTorrent.
