    It depends on kind of wine of course.. i like the Bordeaux so i often buy a Brouilly Chateau de Saint Lager(2004 or 2006) about 8 euros.
    I dunno if you can find it outside France tho

    Mmm... wine. Red wine. You've definitely sparked my interest here, lol.

    A few good, and cheap, red wines available are - both under $10;
    Black Swan (Australian) - Shiraz&Merlot or Shiraz&Cabernet (interesting combinations)
    Beringer (Third Century or Founder's Estate) - Merlot or Cabernet

    My absolute favorite red wine is Pinot Noir... so I don't hesitate to spend the extra pennies when I can.

    Bought 3 bottles of Red Hill South last night for £10. It's a Shiraz and was pretty damn nice. Drank 1.8 bottles of it and I'm keeping the 0.2 for the lasagne I'm just about to make.

    Yay.

    Defy has hit the nail on the head I think. For sheer value for money it is very hard to beat an Australian Shiraz. Something like Hardy's Crest can often be found for around £4 or £5 a bottle ($8 to $10 dollars) and is a good fighting wine.

    A nice Chianti or a Chilean Pinot shouldn't be overlooked either though.

    Many swear by Spanish Riojas but I can't say I have ever really taken to them.

    I have tasted some lovely French wines but they tend to be a bit pricier.

    Obviously Buckfast is cheaper but then so it should be
