Hell on Wheels is an AMC series created and produced by Joe and Tony Gayton. Set in 1865, the series centers on the settlement that accompanied the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, referred to as "Hell on Wheels" by the company men, surveyors, support workers, laborers, prostitutes, mercenaries and others who make the mobile encampment their home. It stars Anson Mount as Cullen Bohannon, a former Confederate soldier who works as a foreman on the railroad as he tries to track down the Union soldiers who murdered his wife.
Not entirely sold on this show as in the great Western tradition most of the roles lean more to caricatures as opposed to characters but I have to admit it's growing on me.
Large, diverse colourful cast, action and intrigue .A person could certainly do worse.

Sounds pretty fucking decent. Gonna get a hold of it.

My son is called Cullen, incidentally.

Also, the finale of Boardwalk Empire was truly magnificent. I was deeply effected.

It was a no sale on the 1st episode for me, but I could see room where it could improve. I think you're saying it has? Either way, I'll let the season wrap up, and pick it up if the derivative stayed above the axis.

    No, you were "deeply affected".
    Unless ILM got to you.

I agree about BE's finale though...I sure didn't see that coming.

I hope that I don't cause you to entirely waste your time. Like I said big brushstrokes and not all of them inside the lines either.

Btw I quite like the name Cullen, too bad the little tyke's father is a cunt.

^^ Waiting for someone to be graphically scalped.

Suggest A Man Called Horse(protagonist impaled and hung in infamous Sun vow scene) ,Ulzana's Raid ( heart cut out tossed around like hacky sack),The Hunting Party (opens with the disemboweling of a cow and goes downhill from there) and just for you one by Italian goremeister Lucio Fulci Four for the Apocalypse.

Anyway I never said that it was great but on the other hand I don't think "shit" is in the ballpark either.

God, I love puns. Just don't think they make a good backdrop for a series...
