Evil Dead is one. It was originally written for Ash to die at the end of the movie but of course it really didn't happen that way because it did well enough to make a sequel which did very well to make another sequel. Oh and the third movie well there isnt a bad guy that wins but uh a depressing ending for Army of Darkness Director Cut, the U.S. Theatrical version is the one with the happy ending.

i would have to agree but leon does succeed by killing him with the grenades. so in that movie leon dies but evil dies also.
