it basically refers to the date of the warez, which means they are released on the same day or even earlier as the originals.

it's also widely used to describe trackers that focus on scene releases.

Used by software pirates to describe material (software, music, movies) released the same day it hits stores

0day can also mean an attack or exploit which is something completely different.

it does mean that but it isn't completely different.

every single scene rls and other type of rlses like foreign scenes, japanese networks, exploits, and so on have a pre time. this is the time in seconds from when it was first on the net. if you download something with a pre time of 10 seconds the first time it appeared on the net was 10 seconds ago.

0day means 24 hours. the term comes from racing sites in the past that had a 24 hour time frame. if the pre time was past 24 hours it was not allowed to be uploaded on the ftp. currently today just about any site with a 24 hour max is a dump site. (opinion not fact)

most 0day trackers are not really 0day. they sometimes rarely upp rlses older then 24 hours from pre.

hopefully all i've said makes sense.

i was talking about zero-day attacks and exploitation of zero-day vulnerabilities. it's an computer security issue and has nothing to do with warez
