Video Capture

im trying to capture some in game footage, ive been using fraps thus far, however it outputs uncompressed avi of up to 100mb+ for 10 seconds of capture. Ive used virtualdub to compress the avi to divxmpeg 4 fast motion, wich gets it down to just under 4mb, but i want it a little smaller than that, for 10 seconds id expect about 500k. Im planning to capture myself doing a track on colin mcrae 3, so about 3mins of video capture at this rate will be huge, any alternative applications, or compression methods welcome (ive tried all of the degrading compression methods, like lowering output colour depth, capturing every second frame etc etc).....
