    i woulda failed english without briticanna so i would difintely recommend that

    I use to use encarta all the time until I found out about wikipedia, but I know teachers frown on it. So my vote goes to encarta

    I actually like Wikipedia! But as has been mentioned, it's frowned upon by schools especially if you quote it as your authority. So yep, go for Britannica and or Encarta.

    I don't understand why everyone hates wikipedia so much.

    Just because everyone can change it? That's what makes it such a great, dynamic resource. Not everyone can contribute knowledge to some stuffy encyclopedia like Britannica or Encarta.

    You have to cite your sources, and if you don't, your claim gets flagged. They lock hot articles to prevent vandalism, and most of the information is extremely accurate.
