a.) almost 3 years old, i believe
b.) the oldest post in the bittorrent discussion is from 2003, so after
c.) i don't recall either of them ever being open signups, but in their infancy invites were really easy to come by
I can help a little bit with c then
c) wheel had signup in the begining.. I don't know about rabbit..
Don't underestimate the swedes..
They must have had open signups in the beginning but i don't think they've had open signup for more then 2-2.5 years
to my knowledge,,wheel has never opened signups(public)
Yeh, UK never has, it's a rebirth of a previous site which was raided by the authorities, that's why this revision of the site was never opened for signups.
///EDIT: I'm Back!! (Thanks for the headup !!)
rebirth of which site ?
interesting, sounds like oink
do they really have a very limited invites ?
**-* has never had open signups for the reason specified by yoyogi4.
As far as I am aware the rabbit also never had open signups, and is the incarnation of another site that didn't give a farque.
Both sites are offspring of long standing communities, so they have been around for some considerable (in torrent terms) time.
The oldest standing file sharing site still is FileList, which must be chalking up it's fourth year by now.
