    Because repacking or extracting releases would be such a pain in the ass. The only times I love when releases are repacked to .7z is when they are huge releases of 20-100 gigs for example.

    But yeah like others said. Rar is the Scene standard and people want releases fast.

    Getting another harddrive is fine when you have a desktop but things get tricky on a laptop since you can't just add another drive to it. While, i still use an exthd to archive old files, i still rely on my desktop to seed larger files I wish that they were more programs out there that can read the content on rar files without unraring them.

    Op, use DZIOBAS player to watch movies without having to unrar first. This will help you a little hopefully.
