    I think their attempt is for people to transfer uncopyrighted files between people

    Last time I checked, any file types notorious for copyright (e.g. MP3), MSN Messenger refuses to start the transfer - They aren't stupid (Dicks, but not stupid )

    So they might block MP3... but do they block .ZIP or .RAR? Could they see thru a zip or rar and see the mp3 or iso or bin and cue inside?

    Probably not since james_bond_rulez suggested you zip the file before you send it. So i'm guessing that works.
