Thread: Peer Guardian - The Boogie Man

  1. #31
anyone can post but all the posts are verified so it wouldn't go very far.... (any ips that are reported invalid are scanned/verified....)

all riaa posts are welcome- we would get their ips lol

Also we might want to start considering the IPs that are tracking/traping your ip. most of these IPs are governmental or private sector working with their respected governement for the purpose of P2P & Proxies. However, there is a disadvantage to this, by releasing these IPs, then we're no longer helping in capturing pedophiles, cyber criminals, "terrorists" and others....

that is true, but you have to think of who is scanning on the ports and programs that you are useing,i mean if there looking for kiddie pr0n than that is one thing.

as for the boggie man names that will be taken care of all the way soon,i have been working out the last of the invalid ip addressesss that are in the pg database.

a few of us are also thinking about adding a longer discription to the names and maybe even a dat so that peeps will know when it was added.

    check for updates.

yeah that's a big range- in there are a bunch of fake file flooders
    nhi networks/ fake files,anti p2p etc:66.54.64.0-66.54.95.255

i'll report it over at the pg forum http://www.peerguardian.net/

    http://www.stardock.com/
    Rejected: 66.54.81.41 - NHI Networks NHI-NETWORKS (NET-66-54-64-0-1) (10-21-2003 @ 12:44:57)

going forward for ppl who find these kinds of errors consider registering as a member of the pg forum and posting in the invalid ip section - which is where we verify the ranges when someone posts an invalid ip

    thanks,

    ddd

we've been doing a lot of editing of the pg db list (including the above nhi ranges being removed and then resubmitted based on fake file testing)- and yes a lot more ranges have been added

look for non anti p2p related govt (and military) and ad/adware/spyware ranges to be removed from the db as soon as i get enough of a consensus over at the pg forum

(some older u.s. d.o.d ranges accoutn for over 33 million ips )
that's dept of defense for those that don't know)

    cheers,

    ddd

it's important for pg users to use the daily updated list coz the lists at meth's site are updated sporadically (that is unless you go to meth's site from 1-5 am gmt coz that's the only time the live db is up)

check my sig link for the updated list

a lot of cogent ranges messing with browsing we're removed, the ntl ranges and other isp ones as well
