For music, I always rename them and put them in Artist\Album folders. For games and other things, the name of the game or movie is the first part of the title, so I just leave it as such.
    Sig goes here.

If i understand your question correct, i used to use collector.com for my collections.
But after a wile it just became so boring adding things to it. So now i just keep a folder with the original Folder name and the .nfo file in it.

East to figure out if you got something or not.

You could also cheack out Whereisit. Awesome app, for offline disks and cd`s. But there is jsut no way im going to read all my dvds into it.
My e-penis is so big it makes John Holmes look like a little boy.

For movies I use Bento - it's a simple, intuitive database program with an attractive GUI. I make my own fields and go from there... love it.

In which OS you're asking about ? If it's in Mac OS X, you could use the great app CDFinder

On the Mac side I've started using Disk Library, a GUI interface to an SQLlite database. I read them in as soon as I've burned off the data, and label the disks with a category/number.

Iirc, Disk Library has a Windows version.
