    what part about linkin park's music makes them metal. they use a little electronics. maybe at beginnings of songs. they don't even scream that much. just in small parts of songs. what convinces you that they're metal?
    Metal doesn't have to have screaming and grinding guitars to be metal. I cant describe that makes Linkin Park metal but I know they are not rock.

    in my opinion... when you say metal. metal means hardcore. some screaming and some loud high guitar sounds. pretty much they are a louder and more hardcore than rock. like slipknot. they&#39;re just out of control.

    linkin park is too sings really low and calm and everynow and then breaks out. but it&#39;s all just opinion. we can just say thier rap/rock/metal. but i think they fall into the same category as kid rock and lb.

    Linkin Park is not RAP or METAL&#33;&#33;

    there guitar playing sux no solos and a pthetic treble sound

    no metal doesnt have to have screaming ect. jsut listen to some power metal Like Drea Theater

    Linkin Parks music is too basic and easy

    I remember the day people were trying to say Nirvana are metal, no way&#33; ever heard of Grunge?

    Faith No More their early stuff had Mike rapping at times and were they called rap metal??? Not at all&#33;

    groups like

    Limp Bizkit
    POD
    Paupa Roach
    Linkin Park

    Ect

    have this new so called new sound which doesn&#39;t appeal to me at all who cares what the Genre is??

    ok hogster mr. know it all. we&#39;re just giving out opinions. we&#39;re not criticizing what others say.

    since you know everything... what genre are they? come on tell us about limp bizkit, linkin park and all the bands you hate. i guess thier not even music are they.

    Nu-Metal. either nu-metal or rapcore. Both of which are in a sub-category of metal I like to call "Trash Metal." But that is just the feeble opinion of a very socially repressed teenager who is too damn cheap to buy cds.
