    i want to get a cheap computer ($500 or less) so im not going to go for a P4,
    what i would like to know is, for my price range which would be better a Celeron or Athlon XP ???

    xp you can find a good one for not so much, and i think celeron just suck. well that's what i had heard

    stay away from celeron unless you absolutely can't avoid it

    yeh..i have a celeron now (566mhz) and i was never really happy with it.

    therez like 500mhz cpus for 15 dollars at pricewatch

    i think u can scrap up a computer for like <400.

    mouse -- newegg.com .01 dollars
    keyboard -- newegg.com 3-4dollars
    speakers -- newegg.com 3-4dollars
    case w/ powersupply -- 20 dollars (newegg)
    motherboard -- 30-60dollars (pricewatch)
    cpu -- ranges (AMD 2400+) 77dollars (pricewatch.com)
    videocard -- 60dollars(www.newegg.com) (ati radeon 9000)
    harddrive -- 65 for 80gb (pricewatch)

    monitor--(<100) if im not mistaken...havent brought a new one in a while

    Heyy im runnin a Celeron at 566Mhz..it hauls though lol ive done lots to it
    [SIZE=1]AMD 4200 X2 @ 2.65Ghz, ASRock 939-VSTA
    1.75GB PC3200, 2 X 160GB Seagate w/ 8MB Buffer
    HIS Radeon X800 Pro, Antec Super Lanboy Aluminum
