    Sick

So what are the chances of getting a letter from an organization that does not like what I am doing? (hypothetically)

    What precautions can be taken?

    One could:
use a block list (peer guardian)
use TOR to anonymize HTTP requests while browsing tracker
use TOR to anonymize tracker communication
    use BT protocol encryption
    not bt at all

    am i missing anything?

    ever heard of google?
    http://www.torproject.org/ ..
if you are using private trackers the probability you get caught is quite low..
but you never know how bored these people are^^

Democracy is only for the rich and powerful. They will never pass a law which would allow us to usurp our owners/leaders.

non-rented, non-usa private ftp server with heavy duty encryption . much safer than p2p.

    safer? How?

lets say you are in the US and your private ftp server is in some other country. you still need to download the content from your private ftp server (albeit over an encrypted link), so the potentially copyrighted material would still be on your HOME hdd (even if you were streaming shit).

I agree the chances of getting caught are slim (unless your part of a major release group who is putting out unreleased material). I just don't want there to be any chance at ALL. iTunes is looking better and better every day.

Using PG helps some...encryption is useless unless it's forced end to end or ssl. From what I understand, Tor is risky...hackers will eat you alive if your not on your toes. Best advice..try to stick to the private trackers, the smaller the better.
