Thread: I accidently registered a software download

    yes this was stupid. I got a copy of sony vegas 8. when loading the program the part where u register online or mail it in I hit the wrong button and it registered it. part of the info I filled out was correct. I deleted the program and went back to their site and downloaded a trial version so it would expire in 30 days. can I get in trouble cause I registered it ? can they tell if it was an illegal copy ? I didnt get an e-mail from them with the codes or anything. My days of downloading are over for sure. Not worth it

    anybody know of someone who has done this ?

    Usually a cracked program just won't register. If it did, you got lucky.
    I wouldn't think twice about it myself. Anyone could give anyones information and they wouldn't waist the time looking into it.

    Yea don't worry about. Just don't get into this type of habit in the future though. Alot of companies are really cracking down on software privacy now. It's the new thing to do. Give 20 years to a guy that downloaded a piece of software, but a murderer or rapist will be out in less then five.

    I friend did it once by accident with ZA and they e-mailed him to become a Beta tester .So can't beat em , join em ?

    If you had some sort of serial # from a gen they'll probably blacklist it.

    Other than that keep a low profile and watch for bounty hunters. Just kidding.

    True story he was shitting himself over the e-mail , funny thing is he's a dumb fuck . Could n't they find anyone else ? ZoneAlarm , pee you not one of my fav's .
